Hey Everyone,
My name is Justin Villegas and I am a 2nd year MBA student.
I want to start by saying how excited I am to have the chance to talk to prospective students about a Freeman MBA.  I know the previous version of this Blog played a huge role in my selection of Tulane and I realized very soon after arriving in New Orleans that I had made the right choice.  So, I’m pumped to have the chance to let you know some things about the program you might not find in US News and World Report or even the Freeman School brochure.  First a little about me…
I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta and started my undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee.  After a year in Knoxville I transferred to the University of Virginia where in addition to school I ran Track and Cross Country.  I graduated in 2006 with a BA in English Literature.   After graduating I stayed in Charlottesville and worked on local political campaigns for a year, mostly raising money but also doing some communications and message development.
In May of 2007 I moved up to Washington D.C. where I worked for the National Federation of Independent Business, a non-profit focused on supporting and promoting small business and entrepreneurship.  At NFIB I worked to raise money for our political and legal programs through direct mail and telemarketing fundraising campaigns.
I came to New Orleans in July of this year in hopes of gaining the marketing skills I’ll need to pursue… well, a career in marketing.  I’m becoming more and more interested in branding so currently I’m looking for a summer internship that will help to lead me in that direction.  I’m also looking into opportunities in sports marketing, more specifically NASCAR.
In addition to writing for the blog I am the first year Social Representative to The Graduate Business Council and a Freeman School Honor Board Rep.
I’m going to have a lot of opportunities to plug all the great opportunities you will have if you come to Tulane and believe me I’m going to take all those opportunities.  But I think I speak for all the bloggers when I say we aren’t just trying to talk at you.  We want you to ask questions and contact us and I really hope you do.  So please don’t hesitate to contact me or anyone else.  You can email me at jvillega@tulane.edu and I’ll get back to you within a day or two.

Justin
