MLK Week

“Everyone can be great because anyone can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t even have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve… You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love…” -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Tulane University is organizing a series of events in honor of MLK. The week kicks off with a string of activities scheduled for Saturday. The projects range from restoring the wetlands to cleaning the communities affected by Hurricane Katrina. In all there are around 25 projects, something for everyone.

There are also other events such as the “CANDLELIGHT VIGIL AND INTERFAITH SERVICE at Dillard University” and a Sun rise to Sunset fast in honor of Mahatma Gandhi.

I believe it is important for MBA students (especially) to participate in such activities, because these activities will improve their teamwork and coordination skills. Not to mention giving back to the community.
