Executive Leadership

I think it’s safe to say that most people in business school would like to be a leader at one point in their career.  I am one of those many people who would like to be in the leadership seat one day and,  with that in mind, I signed up for Executive Leadership this sememster.

The class is one of two night classes that I have this semester. Night classes typically meet one night a week from 6:30-9:15.  The great thing about these classes is that you take them with many students who are in the Professional MBA program. These students work full-time and then take classes at night. The advantage to these classes is that many of the PMBA students have more experience than those in the full-time program and thus they are able to provide valuable insight from their professional experience.

The class is designed to create self-awareness as leaders through individual assessments, developmental planning, and group activities.  The second half of the class focuses on practicing leaders and the issues they face.  This allows time for 5 prominent speakers to come into class and share issues they are currently facing in their company.

We’ve only met a few times this semester but I will be happy to report back on this class later on in the year.  Also, feel free to email me to ask any questions about this class or others that I’m enrolled in.
