Fall is Finally Here

After a summer of insufferable heat, humidity and tropical rain – it’s finally fall in Louisiana.  I have not seen a cloud in the last 11 days.  Temperatures are in the 70s and 80s, and it’s dry.  This is what it must be like to live in California.

As the weather cools, it’s a great time for homecoming at Tulane.  The week’s festivities end with a football game (vs. Army) in the Superdome on Saturday.  Yesterday, as I was working on a project in a  breakout room, we had to close the window because the brass band playing out on the quad was so loud.  For a few days there’s been a huge stage set up across from the student center (which is also across from our building, Goldring/Woldenberg Hall II).  Almost daily, there’s some type of musical performance as we make it through homecoming week.  I’ll send some pictures soon of fall in the South.  October and April are our best months by far.
