Rosalind Shares Her Experience in Argentina

My Buenos Aires, Argentina experience was amazing. The highlight of the trip for me was visiting HSBC Bank Argentina. While there, we met the Chief Operating Officer, the lead economist and a few other people who worked for the bank.
The lead economist spoke about Argentina official and unofficial exchange rate, how the unions negotiate based on the unofficial exchange rate, and real estate is valued in US dollars. It was interesting to hear his perspective on the high inflation, how Argentina is competing with the BRIC countries, and his thoughts on whether or not the exchange rate should be 10 pesos per a dollar.
After the official conversation was over HSBC Argentina hosted a reception for us on their rooftop. There I had the chance to speak more in depth with the Chief Operating Officer and the Argentina skyline as the background. That was a very interesting conversation as we spoke about the bank renovations, security, and what Argentine’s keep in their safe deposit box.
Other highlights of the trips were the Amazing Race Argentina, the IAB Business School Professors, the Malba museum, and our farewell festivities. Farewell night consisted of wine, food, awards for the best presentation, and a couple of full timer’s putting on an impromptu awards ceremony to recognize some of our classmates. Our next excursion is to China – three cities, high-speed trains, and another client presentation!
