PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) Visits Tulane

On Friday February 20th, campus recruiter, Katie Harris, William, Kelley (partner) and several other employees from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), came to Tulane’s Beta Alpha Psi to give a presentation at our weekly meeting. The presentation informed the members of Beta Alpha Psi about the work culture at PwC as well as the values it upholds.

PwC specializes in three main lines of service, including audit, tax and assurance with 766 office locations spread over 158 countries. The culture of the work environment at PwC was described as being flexible in terms of traveling for work and diverse in that there are people working at PwC from all around the world. William spoke on how he has never been bored within his 20 years working for PwC because he is always being challenged in a positive way and explained that with the endless areas and industries to work in, everyday is something new.

Giving back to the community is very important to the company as it allocates several hours to each employee that they could use to give back to the community in any way they would like. With $10 million committed through pro bono work for non-profit organizations and $160 million invested in youth education over the past five years, PwC highly values the surrounding communities across the country.

Towards the end of the presentation, we played a fun Jeopardy type game where we were asked question regarding PwC history that we learned through the presentation in addition to questions about New Orleans and Tulane. One fun fact we learned: PwC is responsible for tabulating the votes for the Academy Awards. After an intense game, members with the highest amount of points received t-shirt prizes. In addition, PwC was kind enough to bring delicious Jimmy John’s sandwiches, which were a big hit! It is always great to see PwC at Beta Alpha Psi and we can’t wait to have them back soon!
