Louis David

Hello, my name is Louis David, and I’m a first-year Freeman MBA student concentrating in Consumer Behavior.  I didn’t take the typical route to business school, but I’m confident I made the right choice to come to Tulane.  I grew up in Lafayette, La., which is about two hours west of New Orleans.  I graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with a degree in Journalism in 2004.  Just a few days after getting my diploma, I started working as a reporter for a local TV station in Lafayette.  From crime, to politics to multiple hurricanes (including Katrina), I reported on it all.

After more than four years in local news, I decided it was time for a career change.  When I was in high school, my original plan was to get an MBA.  After taking my broadcasting detour, I’m back on track.  I don’t regret my time in journalism, and like most of my classmates, I’m looking forward to using the skills that I gained in my previous career as assets in my post-MBA job search.

Even though I’m from Lafayette, New Orleans is like a second home.  My mom is from here, and I have many cousins, uncles and aunts living just a few blocks from Tulane’s campus.  One of my uncles is a graduate of Tulane Law School, I also have a cousin who is a graduate of the Freeman School’s E-MBA program.  Tulane has a great reputation in Louisiana and throughout the South, and I’ll be glad to answer any questions you have about the Freeman School or New Orleans in general.
