Yoga at Tulane

As I am just about to finish the first quarter of my first year as a Freeman MBA, I can say that I never thought I would learn so much so quickly…but balancing such a fast-paced class schedule can be stressful!  I have found that increasingly I turn to my yoga practice to clear my head and guide me through stressful times.  So I was really excited when I heard that the on campus Reilly Recreation Center opened up a new campus yoga and Pilates studio, which offers 19 mind-body classes each week, with offerings including Anusaria yoga, mat Pilates, and hip-hop yoga (don’t worry- no dancing, yogis, just an up-beat soundtrack).  The semester rate to join is very reasonable, and the class times work with the B-school schedule pretty well.

If you would prefer to head off campus for a yoga studio, you are in luck.  New Orleans yoga studios have blossomed in recent years:

Wild Lotus and Life Yoga offer a variety of flow classes.

Swan River has three studios throughout the city and has instructors well versed in Jivamukti and Anusaria styles.

Yoga Balance Wellness offers Mysore style Ashtanga.

If Bikram is your thing, check out Yoga 108.

Namaste!
