When I first moved to New Orleans from San Francisco in August of last year, all that I could focus on was how incredibly hot it was. Insufferable heat! “How could anyone live here?” heat! But you quickly adjust and before you know it, you find yourself bragging to friends around the country as winter approaches: “It’s a balmy 70 degrees in New Orleans today. Sorry it’s freezing where you are.”
So when you come to New Orleans next summer, just take a lot of cold showers and remind yourself of 70 degree days waiting for you in December. Here’s a sunset from a few days ago:
