Chapter 5:就业,实习,兼职,创业 关于就业的一点自言自语 (2)

多次有人问到,是否有公司到Tulane去做宣讲?都是怎样的公司?答,来Freeman做宣讲的公司不在少数,其中也不乏一些大公司,但是总体感觉,金融公司占多数。我曾参加一个,Capital One的。该公司从高层到部门,浩浩荡荡来了10多个,都热情异常,积极地跟Freeman的学生交谈。这貌似是我去过的唯一一个吧。因为我压根没打算留下来,所以也就没往那方面使心思。今年10月份,路州几所高校联合,在Super Dome举办了一场据说是声势浩大的Job Fair,邀请了将近100个公司参加会展。Freeman还对学生有专车接送。当然,毫无例外,我没去凑热闹。

Chapter 4: 生存之地 节假日篇(2)

紧随圣诞之后的,就是新年。新年的庆祝以在Jefferson Square看着漫天烟花,跟着人群大声countdown最为刺激。因值寒冬,深夜的New Orleans终归还是有点刺骨寒冷,英文用的最多的形容词是Freezing。Jefferson广场坐落于downtown,对于居住在uptown的孩子来说,可以搭乘Tulane的免费shuttle前往Deming,然后下车走两步即可。美国人逢聚会必少不了酒;酒后疯狂,各种丑态毕露。一路走过去,此景色不在少数,大可熟视无睹,淡定前行即可。广场周遭很热闹,也很拥挤。如果结伴而去,最好密切相随,以防被人群冲散。
